Good morning all, this is just a quick note to say that there is no newsletter from me today.
So, bye. 😂
Oh there is a reason.
My eldest boy Alex, and his fiancée Eleanor, arrived late last night, not out of the blue but a day earlier than expected. So I’m going to take a day off, possibly even two. A bit of a weekend. 🙂
Today we’re having a get together, an engagement party, in that seaside village Mr Slack speaks of so my Mum and Dad can attend easily. All my kids will be together, Emma and wee Ollie from the Waikato, my first wife Maria and her husband Tom, the guests of honour of course. Seems my White Wine in the sun moment has come early this year.
Some of you might recall reading about their engagement a few months back, that’s here if you’d like to revisit:
We sat up last night chatting and watching the Olympics. So delighted for Lydia Ko and for Lisa Carrington, what incredible athletes, but it was a bit heartbreaking watching the interview with Aimee Fisher who finished outside the medals and has been such a rival to Carrington this year.
If you’d like something political then you might like to hear how Nicola Willis completely messed things up over the Cook Strait Corolla deal, Bomber’s in good form:
Beyond that I have a couple of oldies you might like to check out or revisit.
The first is from this day two years ago and it’s all about that man Sam, and what horrors might await upon the poorly vetted National Party benches. Although as things have transpired they’d be hard pushed to outdo the woefulness, and the “OMG how did that person become an MP”, on display from NZ First and ACT. Yowsers.
The second is from this day last year and is a satirical imagining of the origins of David Seymour. There is a paywall on this one, which I was going to remove, but Substack is throwing a rare error at the prospect of me doing so.
I should mention that any offers you see in these Newsletters is almost certainly out of date, the Gold Card special is the only one I have without an end date. You can however take advantage of my current special, with 20% off the first year, if you’d like to:
So there you go, a 15 minute newsletter. Hope there’s something in there to enjoy and I’ll see you tomorrow, or possibly the day after. Have a good Sunday all you lovely people. 🙂
For no particular reason, Grace Jones. Just sounds so good.
Have a lovely day, and break! Reading this non-newsletter gave me a lot of pleasure...
Enjoy the family time Nick
So precious and never to be taken for granted ❤️
