Coz money’s not God, money’s just food,
and money’s out here making a fool out of you.
He's gonna work you like a dog for the rest of ya life,
and doggies don’t live long, so doggy don’t think twice.

Evening all, I figured I’d better send out a quick note to let you know I’m sick. Physically, I mean.
I posted about it on Facebook yesterday and added a note here on Substack. Still, with the number of messages I’m receiving, others are wondering why there was no newsletter today or yesterday. Which is understandable, it’s pretty unusual for me not to send something two days in a row.
Rest assured, this isn’t a technical issue; no lost newsletters are failing to reach your inbox. I’m just sick. Like this:
A couple of days ago my daughter came home with a negative Covid test, but a positive result for influenza. For the last two days I’ve been in that weird twilight where day and night lose their meaning and you sleep whenever you can. Sure enough I was positive too.
So I’m afraid there isn’t much from me, and pretty unlikely to be tomorrow I’m afraid.
Still, I’m not as sick as this, posted by the man about to become the deputy Prime Minister of Aotearoa New Zealand who is spending his time taunting half the population, like a complete bellend. He posted the following saying he was “serving our country”, as if he’d have the first clue about that. We know who your masters are Seymour, and they sure ain’t us.
Still maybe that’s better than his ridiculous focus on hairdresser regulations that have been in place for decades. I’d say what is wrong with the man, but obviously it’s just a distraction from his Regulatory Standards Bill.
I wondered what less Woke hairdressers might be like…
While Mr Seymour might not want to talk about the RSB, there are others who are spelling it out really clearly, and the following clip is definitely
worth a watch if you haven’t seen it:
As Vicky commented: “Beautifully stated - this should be broadcast across every TV and radio station in NZ to sound the warning!”
That’s about me for today, I’ll be back soon with Lemsip and Panadol.
To end, when I’m crook I tend to get quite emotional and when I saw these photos of the Greens come up this afternoon it made my heart swell and I might have leaked a bit more than I already was.

Out there listening to the people, because if you’re not doing that - then why are you in parliament?
Take care all of you lovely people.
Ngā mihi,
Nick.
To end today, Casual Healing with Amble, love the vibe and the message.
Rest up - take care of yourself like you were one of your kids - listen to your body and DON'T listen to Seymour! ... you could never be that sick! ... I'm not convinced he was actually born of woman :/
People say lots of water but really its lots of fluid. I always find schweppes dry lemonade or a ginger beer (slightly flat) more quaffable than water when down with flu. In the evening may I suggest a hot lemon, honey and ginger drink with the possible addition of a small dram.
Take care, rest well
Ngă mihi
