Great work again Nick.

In my opinion Seymour is the most dangerous person in NZ and his party represents the worst of us.

They are bought and paid for by the Atlas network and so have limitless money to spread disinformation and create division. All at the same time never being held to account by the MSM.

Nick Rockel's avatar

Thanks, Russ. There is something weird about the media coverage they get, both the amount and the positivity.

Jeremy Coleman's avatar

We don’t have to dig too deeply to discover where the weirdness begins. A former director of the NZ Initiative, one Nicola Willis, is also one of those who appoint NZME board members. National’s connections to Atlas are somewhat veiled by entities such as the above as well as the Taxpayer’s Union, Hobson’s Pledge and no doubt others yet to be found, promoting oil and gas exploration, deregulation of tobacco, funded by big corporate donations to save their profits from being denied them. As for Seymour and his band of leeches, sucking the life out of our country, there is a great deal of direct evidence and history between ACT and Atlas, as many are aware, ACT’s leader having worked with and been indoctrinated into Atlas ideology in Canada. The most outrageous thing ACT has ever done, and keeps trying to get across the line, is the Treaty Principles Bill, removing the rights of indigenous people to choose what happens to their land and culture, for corporate interests.

(This is a global issue, btw, so affects millions around the world).

It’s hard to credit that in the “New Age of Enlightenment”, (my words),we apparently live in, the sort of greediness, racism, violence, and oppression wars were fought and millions of lives lost, to eradicate, is as powerful as it ever was. This, Nick is the weirdest thing of all.

Brilliant last sentence, Jeremy, thanks for saying what my 99 year old Welsh father was always saying, because he lied about his age to get in to the army and lasted through the whole of WWII (he passed in 2020, one week short of 100).

Jeremy Coleman's avatar

Thanks Kim. How sad your father got so close but didn’t quite get there. Certainly a great innings, no doubt full of surprises, love, great times and times he’d rather not remember. Just before you sent your comment, I sent one to Pauline to answer her arrows of agreement ( I hope!)😀 I think a lot of us are feeling the same…..

Kim Shaw-Williams's avatar

Jeremy, he was dreading reaching 100, because of all the RSA hullabaloo it would have landed on his shoulders...he said he did not want to "seen to" glorify war in anyway whatsoever. So the clever old Welshman died precisely one week short of 100, peacefully and with bugger all pain, in Chch Hospital.

Jeremy Coleman's avatar

That’s brilliant Kim! What a great way to dodge the celebration he didn’t want. A very clever man indeed👍

Jeremy Coleman's avatar

It’s a very strange world we live in now Pauline. Nothing seems to be quite what it should be. I think we all are waking up wondering what the day will bring.🤔

Pauline Arnold's avatar

It certainly is far too much greed & ugliness humans are supposed to have the biggest brain but I sometimes no oftentimes wonder.

Jeremy Coleman's avatar

When Donald Trump declares he has a bigger brain than anybody else, you know the whole world is in turmoil

MsP's avatar

Agreed. Thoroughly detestable group

seymour is one of a few politicians that I absolutely won't listen. I can predict that my response would be to swear and throw things. I thank you Nick for taking one for the team. The entire act party are vile bottom feeders and attract the like in their supporters 🤢

Rant over 🥴

Mac Stevenson's avatar

I absolutely agree with you Karen. He is to me an unbearable waste of space. Nick really deserves to be in the next honours awards list for "Services Award for Listening to Twaddle."

Shell's avatar

Agreed...I just kept thinking, omg I couldn't listen for 30 seconds. Glad someone did to tell us the awfulness of it, kind of....except, I should think not a word out of his smarmy mouth would be interesting to me.

Susan B Hadley's avatar

A Dickens character pops into my mind every time I am assaulted by a pic of his face....smarmy, creepy, thin-lipped sycophantic, nasty, black-hearted, slimy Uriah Heep.

willy de wit's avatar

Don't hold back Susan, tell us what you really think !

You are 100 % correct regarding that lipless twat.

I just feel sorry for his new girlfriend...and having sex David, doesn't mean ejaculating in your pants , or asking 'is it in ?'

Helen Murfitt's avatar

Exactly! That smug thin-lipped smirk really gets to me.

Brendan Cooney's avatar

At least Uriah Heap pretended to be humble. Not an iota of humility from wee Davey.

Marlene's avatar

Thanks for listening to Seymours speech, it saved my ears from being assaulted by his bull shit. He absolutely loves the sound of his own voice and truly believes he is the Messiah who is delivering us from, who the hell knows what.

Darien Fenton's avatar

Seymour's idea for 20 ministers on current numbers would see Karen Chhour and Andrew Hoggard out as Ministers outside Cabinet, as well as Simon Court as parliamentary undersecretary. And Toad Stephenson would lose his job as private secretary. so thank you very much. I vote for those people to be dumped. Ministries cut from 48 to 30 without counting all the Crown Entities and other reporting bodies - and somehow 20 ministers will only have one ministry to report to. Eh? That doesn't add up. Does that leave 10 out of 30 ministries without a minister to report to?

Cindy's avatar

⁉️ Surely you aren't still expecting LOGIC & REALITY to be party of the 🤮 that comes out of Seymour & the ACT party 😱 (rhetorical question...🤷 ) I'd say they are dreamers but it's more like nightmares 👿 🤬

willy de wit's avatar

I've been doing some data analysis on The ACT Party , with some very interesting comparisons to Nazi Germany.

So Seymour is Adolph Hitler ( obviously ).

Parmjeet Parmer is Herman Goring.

Hoggard is Himmler.

Brooke Van Wierdon, Veldon ? is Joseph Goebbels ( The Minister Of Propaganda, how apt )

And Simon Court is Rudolph Hess, sorry, and Simon Court is Eva Braun.

Seymour is malicious, lipless spiteful, factually incorrect and THE WORST TWERKER IN THE HISTORY OF TWERKING, EVER.

If only Seymour's parents had worn a condom that night...

Perhaps it's time for more people to be sand in the gears of neoliberalism...to do more than talk on social media.

Heather Thompson's avatar

Let's each think what we can do then.

We each have different strengths, opportunities and audiences. So let's each do something.

John Farrell's avatar

The late 1960s early 1970s actions I remember - anti Vietnam war, anti French nuclear tests demonstrations would not have the same impact now. I think the sources of funds for the ACT party should be targeted. Make them think twice about donating.

Heather Thompson's avatar

I think part of the issue is the insidious nature of neo-liberalism and the way the current coalition operate stealthily and suddenly whip stuff through truncated parliamentary processes. Its not nearly as clear as 'a war' to take to the streets about.

Certainly hitting ACT in the pocket if you know ways is a really good idea.

Cindy's avatar

There is a movement in the US to target the tech bros propping up the Trump regime in return for influence & carte blanche to wreck people's lives and the planet while being so insanely rich it is gross - in that case there are identifiable targets & actions such as use Amazon to identify what you want & buy it locally; don't upgrade your i-phone for a few months to tank the Apple stock; etc etc Unfortunately, I'm not sure the Aotearoa money providers to our corrupt coalition polis are so easy to target, but any suggestions welcome!

Heather Thompson's avatar

Its hard to keep your eye on everything as there are so many things going on. We do need to stay informed and share where we can.

Its great having people like Nick keep their eyes on whats happening and share that with us in a digestible form.

I'm involved in education and have been sharing what I know about the people from Atlas (NZ Initiative ) that Erica has involved in the current changes in curriculum and teachers council etc through educators sites.

That's one small thing I can think of.

wenz99's avatar

Thank you once again for dissecting his idiotic rant.

Cheryl McConnell's avatar

Love that line,"This party has nothing to offer". He shouldn't even be in govt. And that's down to dirty tea leaf dealing by John Key.

Diana Coleman's avatar

Thanks for suffering Seymour’s drivel so we don’t have to. He really is a creep, no wonder his party attracts such heartless people. The man just rambles a stream of drivel, I’m not sure even he listens to it.

MsP's avatar

I just find him palpably ick. I have no idea how/why he appeals to anyone at all but he is very clever and very dangerous.

Shell's avatar

I never think of him as being clever...he might be a clever speaker/liar, but his IQ cannot possibly be

more than 120.

MsP's avatar

I think he has a very specific type of Intelligence combined with a very specific and unrelenting focus and agenda, which makes him very dangerous.

Cindy's avatar

🤔 He is more feral cunning than traditional "clever" as I have always thought of it, but that is perhaps more dangerous as he doesn't get distracted by thinking deeply ⁉️

MsP's avatar

Yes perhaps that’s what it is. Feral cunning. Though his work on the Voluntary Euthanasia Act, before gaining real power, was apparently academically rigorous.

Shell's avatar

Yes, that’s is an excellent summation , coupled with an absolute void of basic morals.

MsP's avatar

Oh absolutely zero social morality of any sort, totally agree. He doesn’t even seem to be aware it exists even.

Shell's avatar

Very sick individual.

Diane Shaw's avatar

Spot on, Nick!

MsP's avatar

Nice work Nick. Great track. Such a young Nina.

Leonie's avatar

FAR far too many photos of seemuchless preferably.

Oh well, thanks for doing the mahi that I could not bear to.

Life is too short.

Excuse me 🤮🤮🤮

Gloria Sharp's avatar

OML I can’t handle tooo much of these A people.

Cindy's avatar

😱 👿 🤬 That 💉 has no redeeming qualities, & neither do any of his party "leaders", which I assume means the same for ordinary members who think he is more than 💩 Sincerely hope they crash and burn next election, but don't want NZLast to get their votes either 🤷

Julie Mac's avatar

I watched a few minutes on TV. and was lucky enough to catch him make the usual dork of himself by trying to crack a joke about his atlas sponsored fiance being there on valentines day. It really showed me just how totally fake he and the relationship is. Jacindas arrogant prick is looking stressed losing all those voters to Winny. I made me happy
