Another day of fresh racist crap from this despicable government. Next year we all have to work to get the vote out and oust these horrible people. Labour is going to have a lot of work to do to get rid of the horrendous b.s. this government has forced on us all. I'm so angry at the influence that the gargoyles of Hobsons have on this stupid government. And Seymour is a menace to everyone in NZ.

So totally agree with you. One thing we all can do is to say to, whomever, "check to see that you are on the electoral roll so you can vote". A large number of names have disappeared off the rolls, especially Maori names, of people who have voted previously.

Thank you Nick for this summation. Erica Stanford has proven herself to be not only a fabricator of the truth she is also a disaster for education in this country. It is clear she has followed the influence of the Atlas Network through curriculum rewriting, changes to pedagogical delivery and assessment and now determining who will be on the Teaching Council. Along with this her disdain for TeTiriti and an official language of Aotearoa demonstrates she has little idea of what education really means. Yes there is an inequity in achievement for our children however it would be more quickly addressed if the poverty gap was closed and all children started their educational journey on equal terms. There’s lots more but my level of disgust at her and the creep Seymour couldn’t be greater.

Agree with everything Mac. The “Curriculum of Core Knowledge” Erica is introducing, came from a book she made her secretary and staff read. Couldn’t she at least do it herself? ( maybe she did, if only to tell everyone who would listen that her team were “all reading the same page”)Nothing she’s offered is original or appropriate for our children’s education. The book “The schools we don’t have and why we need them”, was written by ED Hirsch Jr., on the premise that the children of America needed to be taught how to become good, patriotic citizens, while completely ignoring any indigenous knowledge, history or culture . Is this what we really need or want in our supposedly sovereign, egalitarian country? No doubt Erica is the new cover girl for the Hobson’s Pledge, NZI, NZTU lobby, but for the rest of us she is someone who can’t think for herself, and denies the importance of ALL this country’s history and culture. This so called progressive government should put away the Atlas textbooks, learn what this country really has to offer, other than digging it up, chopping it down and selling to the highest bidder. Chris Hipkins was right on the money when he suggested the whole lot of them must go. They have neither the intellect, the qualifications, willingness or courage to make our country one worth living in for us all, regardless of race, creed, colour or culture.

Absolutely Jeremy she isn't introducing or updating a curriculum fit for Aotearoa schools. This is the usual ideological result of failed policies from elsewhere. Would accept adopting Finland's education system tweaked for Aotearoa, because their system is aimed at educating not indoctrinating, but not this garbage.

Judith Paulin's avatar

Absolutely agree Jeremy!!

Jeremy Coleman's avatar

Thanks Judith. To me it almost seems like a test to see how long and how much does it take to break a country’s heart and spirit. Everything they do is wrong, immoral and corrupt. They have to go.

Judith Paulin's avatar

I totally agree with you, Mac!!

Don’t be distracted by this racial garbage. The question is do we want complete state control over everything that makes Aotearoa unique and proud to be called “kiwis”. Don’t let “them” obliterate our history, heritage, culture all so we can become part of the new world order, world control. That’s not community that’s called obedient slavery

I am so pi**ed off by this action. Next year THEY WILL BE GONE!

It would be an interesting Venn Diagram with circles representing National Election Promises, Axis Network Initiatives (Hobson’s, NZTU, NZI) and ‘what’s actually happened’ - no wonder they’re celebrating! Erica is just a Luxon dressed up as a Jacinda, what an amazing disappointment

Gavin Scoble's avatar

Luxon dressed up as Jacinda -classic! :)

drednorzt's avatar

That particular venn diagram is a single circle.

Keith Simes's avatar

The election promises circle was a bit opaque, the other two are awfully alike

Morena Nick.

Another banger from you this morning.

Thank you for articulating so well what so many of us are thinking and feeling.

It's beyond reprehensible what Minister Stanford is doing. She really has no idea about education and neither does that prick David Seymour.

Have a great day.

Have a great day too, and hope you have a lovely birthday celebration. 🙂

Thank you Nick.

Honestly, I’m a teacher of 25years and I am so angry and sad. Every day there is more racist rubbish and more undermining of our profession. We are qualified, certified and trained to be experts in our field, but when we say we disagree with their terrible ideas, they ignore all that expertise completely and tell us we are silly. What’s the point? They are tearing the education system down setting it on fire, and replacing it with corporate interests that are in direct opposition to the best interests of our tamariki. I could cry.

Tess Porter's avatar

What ignorant gits our modern racists are!

In the 1500’s my ancestors were living in stone and sod one room huts, often with no chimney just a smoke hole in the roof, no sanitation and cooking over a fire. In freezing bloody Scotland. I think I’d prefer a whare in more temperate Aotearoa thanks.

I see that our only means of undoing this bullshit, is to vote at next year's election. Send the 3 headed taniwha a message that we don't agree with their anti-Maori, cronyism, let the rich get richer behavoiur

Absolutely disgusted and ashamed that (NACT1) Kiwis can be so enamoured of rhetoric from overseas that they want to make us into carbon copies

But i am seriously worried that this lot will get back in at the next election. The polls are showing only a slight drawing away from these creeps and social media is still full of Jacinda-hate. The spectre of Trump getting back in for a second term when millions believed it could never happen looms over me…here on Substack, there is strong support for getting rid of the CofC, and reading these comments gives me hope. But. Is it False Hope? The lies are never called out in the media (Jack Tame tries.)

Erica's curriculum is a nonsense.

In the latest onslaught Erica wants to control teachers and their qualifications

Erica is a an Atlas puppet. She is following a list of instructions from her advisory group and overseas folk who think western civilisation is underrepresented in our curricula..

Who amongst us feels their life is poorer for not studying Theocrastus when we were a five year olds?

How would a five year old make any sense of learning about someone who lived far away in time and distance.

I pride myself on having a pretty wide general knowledge but I had not heard of this particular Greek philosopher in my more than 70 years.

Children need to make sense of the world they live in.

Children learn best from teachers who care about them and the community they live in.

I just want to scream at what Erica and her instructors manual are doing.

I am genuinely concerned for our democratic future. I find it stunning that Luxon thinks this is a way to win. I hope I am right.

Everybody is clinging to the hope of next year, it would be a miracle if change will happen.

Diana Coleman's avatar

It’s up to us to do everything we can to make change happen.

Cindy's avatar

🥹 We have to have "hope" or we will give up the fight - it will only be a "miracle" if they lose the govt benches WITHOUT all of us fighting to get it done 🤷 Each of us who want them gone have to do whatever we can to make it happen 💪 (some can't do much but it all adds up👍 )

Its is the usual political promotion of Right political view against the Left. Right for domination and control of resources for maximum financial benefit - against Left for equitable use of resources with shared financial benefits.

wenz99's avatar

Some one needs to put a compliant into our Race relations person or higher up the Untied Nations? I might have look into doing this ....I am sure they have breached several clauses .

Cindy's avatar

😱 My take is that Ms Stanford has fallen down the rankings of who will take over from Luxon due to not being horrible enough to satisfy the likes of Hobsons Pledge & the big $$ backers who pull the strings behind National party politics, and she or her advisers realised that 🤷 The lies they tell to justify the unjustifiable get more blatant as they think they are getting away with it, but it also could smack of panic in the ranks - recognising they are possibly/probably going to be a one term govt so trying to entrench as much damage as possible to fairness & equity so as to make any change of govt faced with an overwhelming programme of things to try & put right.

🥹 There is a woman in the US, Amy Siskind, who made it her mission at the start of the first Trump presidency to record EVERY action & decision of his administration, small & large, on the basis that things that outrage now get overtaken by the next outrage & forgotten by everyone except those directly affected 🤷 Your archive Nick, plus Mountain Tui, Dr Bex & many others in their own areas of interest, can serve a similar purpose, and I'm sure there are people in the Labour Party & Greens also keeping track🤞

I remember there was a long list of lies under Key that was maintained.
