If you didn't see the comment below, the answer to #9 was Te Pāti Māori. Lots of overlap with the Greens and Labour.

Q2 - it may surprise you youngsters that there was a time before TV - growing up, I used to listen to The Goon Show, The Navy Lark and Round the Horne, on steam radio. TV didn't arrive till I was in my teens.

Hi Pauline,

Ah yes, they used to say that after a trip to the barber's, the difference between a good haircut and a bad one was about 10 days.

It wasn't the Greens, although they would be quite compatible with those policies, I'm sure.

My appeal was more to those who are not paying subscribers, thanks for your support and for sharing the posts. 🙂

Question 1: Non, I always look fabulous ;-)

Question 2: As a millennial Kid, majority of the Nickelodeon cartoons from the 90s; rug rats, cat dog, I are baboon, Real Monsters, ren & stimpy etc.

Question 3: No

Question 4: Hell Yes!

Question 5: Fire & Ice directed by Ralph Bakshi

Question 6: YES! Their behavior during that time was corrosive. It gave me the impression that they wanted our country to do badly during the pandemic... ie: have lots of Kiwis die just because it would be politically advantageous to them. It was bloody awful!

Question 7: Yes unfortunately

Question 8: I think things would be about the same because I don't think the government agenda is set by anyone of those politicians. They are all just tools to implement the agenda of atlas... allegedly I've course. In some ways it might be worse having a more competent politician in there instead of Luxon.

Question 9: Greens? I would have to do more research but they sound aright. No instant reflags.

Question 10: I will do my best Nick

Questions:

Question 1: What’s the worst hairstyle that you ever had?

After having long dark haIr at university, I decided to grow it long much later after it had greyed. Not a great look.

Question 2: Did you have a favourite programme when you were growing up?

TV began in Dunedin when I was 10. We watched everything for a bit. Teen fave was the Avengers. Absolutely idolised Dianna Rigg as Emma Peel. At last a n intelligent kick ass woman.

Question 3: Have you ever been to Edgecumbe?

Briefly.

Question 4: Do you miss having a PM capable of answering questions?

Yes. Miss Jacinda's intelligence and fluency and sense of timing.

Question 5: Is there a movie you have watched far more times than its quality would merit? If so, can you remember the first time you saw it?

No and so no.

Question 6: Do you believe the inquiry into the handling of Covid should consider the unhelpful, contrarian stance of the opposition at that time?

I think if they looked deep enough to identify those who influenced rabbit holers that would be useful. However not interested in a forum for conspiracy theorists and all their non scientific and victim stuff. I don't want anything that appears to validate their twisted logic

Question 7: I think it’s possible that in time Labour and the Greens may draw level, but do you think ACT will ever surpass National as the largest party on the right?

Probably not and hopefully not.

Question 8: Would things be better or worse if either Soymon or Crusher were in charge now rather than Christopher?

I struggled to listen to Soymon's twang. He lost all credibility when Jamie Lee recorded him working out how to distribute the large donation to hide who it was from. Only good thing Jamie Lee did.

Collins was always the great faker who lied about visits in China and swamp kauri retrieval. So no and no to them

Question 9: Whose policies do you think those are? And would you vote for them?

Probably, they look good.

Question 10: Will you help me reach a wider audience?

I already subscribe so not sure how I can help. Would of I could. I'd give you a reference for how your work helps me to reflect if that was useful.

I loved The Avengers, too, with Diana Rigg; so imaginative and cool.

Question 1: What’s the worst hairstyle that you ever had?

I had the mum special for years. Different versions of a small mullet.

Question 2: Did you have a favourite programme when you were growing up?

As a child, Basil Brush. But I also loved Blake 7. My siblings and I would act it out for fun.

Question 3: Have you ever been to Edgecumbe?

Yup.

Question 4: Do you miss having a PM capable of answering questions?

Every. Single. Day.

Question 5: Is there a movie you have watched far more times than its quality would merit? If so, can you remember the first time you saw it?

Krull. I thought this movie was amazing and used to binge watch it heaps as a youngster and teen. It has not stood the test of time. Our family hired it from the video van that would come by our house on a Friday night in the late eighties. We then got our own copy.

Question 6: Do you believe the inquiry into the handling of Covid should consider the unhelpful, contrarian stance of the opposition at that time?

Yes. Examine what contributes to our perspectives.

Question 7: I think it’s possible that in time Labour and the Greens may draw level, but do you think ACT will ever surpass National as the largest party on the right?

I hope not. If it does, it means we’re becoming even more selfish as a country.

Question 8: Would things be better or worse if either Soymon or Crusher were in charge now rather than Christopher?

I’d like to have seen what Simon Bridges would be like compared to the illustrious Luxon.

Question 9: Whose policies do you think those are? And would you vote for them?

Most likely it’s the Sue Grey party (can’t remember the name) or something like that. It’s why you look at all policies when voting.

Question 10: Will you help me reach a wider audience?

Sure :-)

1. A short perm, think in the late 70’s. It was supposed to be waves, and shoulder length. Never went back to that salon again.

2. Doctor Who.

3. Yes, when we first came to NZ we lived on Thornton Rd roughly where R&Bees Berry Farm is. Did go to Edgecumbe much as went to Whakatāne High.

4. Definitely. I miss having a capable PM too.

6. Yes.

7. I don’t think ACT will surpass National, but then in politics anything can happen.

8. Hard to see how it could be worse, but better? Possibly. I can’t imagine Judith letting Peters and Seymour run rings around her.

9. Labour. I would.

10. I will do my best.

Have a lovely evening Nick.

2.It was radio and the Goon Show etc were great.

3.Sister and brother in law lived in Edgecumbe so have visited often.

4.Yes miss Jacinda terribly. She was clear and articulate and actually answered questions so unlike the present twat.

6. The Opposition made Covid response so much worse. Have particular memories of Bishop and his constant undermining.

7. OMG hope not that would make our country just like so many others with a hard right leaning Govt. that benefits nobody except the rich. Oh that’s right just like now then.

8. Probably both more willing to keep Seymour and Peters in check and wait a little longer for their knighthoods than Cluxton.

9. I had hoped Labour Nick however you have been mean and kept the guessing going.

Another day in memory lane. Excellent!

Q1. Mullet. In 1978-ish, I think. I might have started something. Sorry…

Q2. Rocky and Bullwinkle, Addams Family, Munsters, Three Stooges.

Q3. No, it came to me via earthquake while I was driving a forklift on a loading dock. Interesting, to say the least!😬

Q4. Desperately.

Q5. 2001: A space odyssey, 14 times in different places and different shades of mellow. All time favourite. Never too much.

Q6. There should never have been one. It wasn’t needed but one inquiring about the opposition’s antics, demands and lack of support for their country would have been appreciated.

Q7. I seriously, seriously hope we never have to hear about that again……

Q8. About the same. Usual drivel, different voices.

Q9. Green (tough clues,Nick🤔)If not for Labour would certainly consider it the best option.

Q10. Laser focused and working incredibly hard to get this done!

( I am actually trying to)

I did find 201:Minutes of a space idiocy but couldn’t quite read text. You may know better than me how to do it. It’s on Reddit. Cheers 🙂

Question 5: Is there a movie you have watched far more times than its quality would merit? If so, can you remember the first time you saw it?

Love your choice of music for today's post - now I have the soundtrack for the movie Highlander playing, thanks! I watched the movie for the first time in ages a few years ago, and I was mildly horrified at how much of it I could quote verbatim. Didn't realise I'd absorbed so much when we (my now-ex and his friends and I) watched it multiple times. Don't remember the first time, it was 30+ years ago now.

A movie I have seen possibly too many times now is Twister, though I have enjoyed it every time. Over the past 5 or so months it has been a repeat item on Sky movies and I have caught parts if not the whole, thing in the wee small hours while not sleeping. The flying cow is iconic, and the way the communities rally to support one another is a feature. Sky added Twisters, the recent updated version last week, and it was almost as good as the original, and visually better thanks to new technologies in the production side of things. I liked that the lead is now a woman scientist with strong ethics and a big heart. smart ideas for defeating tornadoes also.
