OMG......the Rissole of Racism....'What do you call that darl?'. Honestly, best laugh I've had for ages!

Peters' verbal dysentery is repulsive, his weak jokes, the prepared insults. But what makes me so sad and ashamed is his laughter and joking about actual genocide...so many people dead now...so many children blown apart...and he and his followers actually laugh? It's not even complicity through silence. He doesn't even PRETEND TO CARE. I can't believe he is allowed to be our representative on the world stage. What a shower of complete fascist psychopaths!

Perhaps it was just a slip of the tongue Katie. With Seymour taking over his current role of DPM soon, he probably meant “arsehole of racism” but his feeble mind couldn’t allow him to say it.

Winston statement that Labour left a mess. Then why did rating agencies give us AA?

Why did treasury say the prefu was in good shape?

The fact that people supported Jacinda Grant Chippy and Ashley and returned the Labour government in 2020 without Winston and NZ First, has rankled with Winston. He saw an opportunity to link with the protestors and use them to return to Parliament. These three CoC men are so intent on wrecking every good thing Jacinda and team did, they are causing endless problems and grief. Perhaps he thinks by beating the "woke" drum he will miss the slings and arrows of the lunch debacle, the ferries debacle and the pumped hydro debacle. However the Hikoi and Treaty Bill have tarred him as he delighted in removing every inclusive statement in legislation. He has outed himself as a fair weather friend. It is fast becoming every man for himself, as the programme of destruction and few gains threaten his hold on power. He won't find a waiting horse next election, and Chippy has his measure. More and more people consider this government very poor, and doing badly by ordinary people.

Thanks Nick - great read. I find it hard to understand why our Ombudsman Peter Boshier is having to resign due to his age & this shyster continues to play smoke & mirrors with the electorate. The contrast between the two is ‘as the saying goes’, like chalk & cheese - even allowing for the difference between a political animal & a thoughtful career public servant.

An amazing interview on Q & A with Jack Tame yesterday. Certainly hope Mr Boshier continues to comment now he unemployed 😉🤣

The old shyster must be afraid that he won't make it back to parliament in 2026. I'd imagine that the people he is trying to appeal to will be current National or ACT supporters - we can hope to see the looney right eating themselves.

2026 or later in 2025 if the polls give him hope? He won’t like Seymour being Deputy Sheriff and hogging more of the limelight…

Thanks Nick - a great read. I have very little to add really as my brain is full to the brim with other things that right now take a huge priority in my life.

Except I do wonder whether Winston Peters tries hard to be a complete Dick or does it just come naturally. A Dick appealing to Dicks seems to be soup de jour these days.

What a nonsensical speech - thanks for reporting on it Nick. Peters is governing with the present lot in charge so who is it he wants to take back NZ from.

What's with all these ' state of the nation' speeches?? Has that always been a thing or is it the NZ far rights opportunity to delude the masses yet again? Maybe I just took no notice in years gone past because the people giving such speeches didn't excite me either for or against whereas with this lot my BP is often through the roof! How anyone can take this shyster seriously is beyond me yet I know that many do 🤷. We will probably never convince them otherwise so we just need to get on and vote this current lot out!

I was thinking. Winston started his life in politics 37 years ago in the late 1970s, before my son was even born. If you look at his record, this bs is how he has survived in politics, with opposition, ranting, court cases against opponents, conspiracy theories and on the backs of big donors with some cases highly dodgy and subject to at least one prosecution of electoral rules. And he let NZ down terribly again and again. It is clear from that speech yesterday he is trying to get votes from Labour by doing what he always does ; spouting rubbish, not least the claim NZ First is the party for workers, and his attack on unions. As for that woke rubbish, it's like he's only just heard it. it is so old now.

What a silly old prick I wish Labour had got rid of neo liberalism while they had the chance this kind of disgusting mad behavior is tearing its ugly head all around the world. Anne Salmond wrote a great article in newsroom I think it's called about it it's been the downfall of our civil society everywhere. These bastards that are in now are pushing it even harder we have to push back otherwise we'll be soup in our own country.

Pauline, Chippy spoke of this on BHN recently; said that they have made progress away from neoliberalism, and will continue to do so.

What a waste of space is politics of the Western World! Decisive, aggressive, abusive, and biased! We "Voters" unhappily put up with it bleating in our cups - "What can I do?" Think about it! - Only we - People can make it change - politics is ALL about Self Interest - Politicians and the "rich and sorted" are doing quite nicely. It is the "system"that is at fault and it needs changing!!!

Thanks, Nick. Winston hasn't had anything new to say for a very long time. 😴🥱 To be honest, I'm disappointed in him. By this time he's usually smashed up any government he's been part of. Maybe he's waiting till his understudy takes over before he starts throwing things. (I'll bring the popcorn when he starts. ☺️ ).
