I'm sure she won't read it but I've messaged it and emailed it to her just in case 🙂

Absolutely love this letter. Cleverly written and hits the nail on the head. Do you think she'll read it? I don't think I've ever disliked a government more in my life time. All their actions so far are horrid.

Amine 🙏 but sadly this lady's not for listening. And she won't care about being unelectable in Wellington either. We wouldn't be here today if these people understood, or cared about, the complexities of social issues at an apocalyptic point in time. Aue. Go Chippy and team, it's going to be a long hard 3 years 😪

A lovely kind letter, Nick, but you know she won't take your advice. You ask her to look at the faces of the people who will (and are already starting to) suffer. She may look at them, but their eyes and mouths and words don't touch her - they are beings from another planet and they don't speak her language - the language of entitlement and never doing without, of being able to lie with impunity and still be chosen to lead.

She won't be diverted from her goal of delivering for the rich by depriving the poor and the squeezed middle - who are all starting to look like stick figures. And she needs all her energy to keep convincing that bunch of middle stick figures that it's all the fault of the beneficiaries and eaters of school lunches.

She doesn't have time for your words, Nick - too much scything and chopping and placing the bales in that rich corner of the field...

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

Yeah right- it’s a nice dream Nick but it will never happen- these clowns are too ideologically brainwashed to think beyond their ideology- they don’t care about the ‘dross’ that might get caught up - it’s only about them them them - and their donor mates!

Well written Nick and agree totally. However I do not think Willis is wired like that. She is safe on the list forever and does not have to care a fig about the good people in her part of town. I suspect hopefully that somewhere, somehow some decency and compassion may creep into her thoughts or the thoughts of enough in her cabinet for them to say "taihoa". Yes, these people are our government now for good or bad, that is how democracy works and I'm good with it but I do not have to agree with much of what they are doing. I guess we will see how much compassion she has in May.

I truly hope you send this to her for real. And if you, and she responds, I for one would like to see what she has to say. Or perhaps not .....

Thanks Nick, one of your best. I hope that one of us forwards it to Nicolala, suspect she would rather take her kids to the movies than subscribe!

One of your very best Nick. Possibly wasted on the ears and eyes of the intended recipient but nevertheless beautifully done. It should be circulated widely and I will do my little bit to see it is.

Great letter Nick and it would be great if she would read it. Unfortunately I believe her views are too well focussed on tax cuts as these are intended to repay the already well off for their donations to the party. A copy to Luxton would be good too though he won't get to read it because he is too busy performing photo ops. Wonderful speech from Chippy yesterday and he restored my faith in the Labour Party. Now to build the policy and really hit things before the next election and possibly in time to save some of the good things in our country, like our reputation overseas.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if she actually read it, listened, and had the empathy to see the truth in it.

A beautifully expressed letter Nick. Sadly though you’re trying to appeal to a heart when I don’t think there is one. Time will tell but I fear Willis’ May budget will be even more cruel than we can imagine. This is undoubtedly the worst government we’ve ever had. Some of its ministers are plain incompetent and others are just totally ruthless and horrible. Most are both in equal measure, including Nicola Willis.

She has to resign if she can't deliver. I doubt it's an option in her mind.

Excellent letter Nick. If only someone would put it under her nose but I fear the public servants who work for her would be far too afraid of losing their jobs to do that. Reminiscent of Ruthanasia in the 90s which, following Lange’s debacle, changed the political and economic landscape forever. Public dissatisfaction almost ended National’s reign and ushered in MMP. Ironic that the mess we’re in now is largely down to that very reform. Be careful what you wish for.
