Some of our cartoonists are mitigating some of the mischief the journos make. God bless Sharon Murdoch in particular.

An interesting tidbit I heard over the weekend.

Last Thursday a friend’s daughter was having an after work drink with colleagues. Slithering into their group of pretty young things a local MP offered to buy one of them a drink. None of them recognised him until he was named as Chris Bishop. Once a creep, always a creep 🤢

Watched the football and was devastated for Slovakia. Games like this bring out the old cultural tug of the forelock, makes me wonder why England is the team we want to win is “our” team , so too speak, when there is no rhyme nor reason to support them at all. Well done Slovakia, you did well getting to the knockout stage and were approximately 40 seconds away from a major upset that would have gladdened my heart because my historical ties and emotions still control that lizard brain of me when the smart part says that I’m being silly.

I support them because I've watched English football since I was a boy, especially when I lived there. But yeah, I'd never support England in rugby or cricket, well maybe against the Aussies in the cricket.

Similar to you David, I was hoping Afghanistan would win the T20 World Cup, after they demolished Australia and NZ. It's always good to see complete outsiders deal to the favourites, even our own, just to let them know they're around......

Many a true word written in jest👍. With the Coalition of Complete Confusion, it's hard to tell the difference between what they tell us is true and good or is what most people describe as a sick joke. Surely they must be jesting!? The writer of this epic should certainly be given a steak and also a glass or two of something tasty to quench their thirst. It must have been quite a challenge to come up with something so descriptive of life in our once beautiful country. Well done that man! I hope the *B" side of this record will soon be released. (I also hope anyone under 50 understands what that means.)

Brilliant. I did need to read it a second time, as recommended!

The poem was fantastic. Had me chuckling and head nodding in agreement. BHN clip was sobering how the tories could manipulate the country really so easily.

Watching the mighty Warriors on Saturday night and Mr Luxon popped up on the big screen as he was at the game.... was quickly shut down as the boos started! We certainly had a giggle, go the Warriors supporters!!

That was gold ☺️ and loved the whanau gathering, moments memories are made of. I smiled at the partners of our kids mention. One of my son's partners was from Europe and we got very attached to her and then he went and broke up!! Unbeknownst to him and hoping he doesn't read this we stayed in touch and even met up with her in Prague on an overseas trip hahaha - had to be careful with the Facebook posts!

When I was a teenager in Auckland, I had a friend named Tony who took me to Tony's as a laugh...yummy.

A rather clever piece of poetry "Annon" & accurate! I always enjoy BHN too. A delicious steak meal would make a very fitting meal for a 16yr old. Must be the place I had a delicious steak many years ago where you selected the raw steak & it was cooked how you wanted it. Don't recall the name but it was lower Queen St area.
