And we have pseudoephedrine back in pharmacies because Seymour cared so much about the "agony" being suffered by people with a cold. Crikey, try cancer for a bit of agony.

I suspect they want pseudoephedrine back on the shelves so people can take a pill and keep working, don’t worry about spreading disease to your colleagues, just get back to work and keep the profits flowing.

The "soldier on" ads are back on TV. They disappeared in the early covid years.

COVID is still very much around too and for some people that’s a serious illness.

Far right extremists need someone to vote for, if they do. The near right signals to them that we're with you, we just can't say or do what you do. It just makes evil pragmatic sense for a right-wing government to be soft on far-right terrorism. If you couch almost every decision they've made in terms of who benefits and draw the intersection with NActNZF core voters, you'd get near 100% match, IMO. The cancer patients and families aren't a big enough demographic to tip an election and the rich can afford the drugs anyway.

And on it goes. An attack on sick leave today from Brooke van ACT. I’m a survivor of Mad Max Bradford taking our public holidays, then Kate Wilkinson and John Key reducing our rest and meal breaks and of course the 90 day trial redux. That's 20 years of the Right with no new ideas reverting to their old playbook. Thats 20 years of repair work Labour and its allies have had to spend time on in government. Some days.

Yes I remember that Max Bradford scumbag talk about beat working people with a big stick & now we've got witch velde whatever the f --k her name is damn these people who want to put down working people who are the backbone of the country

And yet nightly my TV1+ viewing shows me adverts telling sick people they need to stay home.

Astonishing…or not…

The saddest part is that we have sufficient numbers of people who think that the right wing neoliberals are on the right track and are the best people to run the country to let them get back into power.

All backwards at the mo. The sick leave reduction really deflates me. Part timers are so vulnerable. Many working parents in that group. They need more not less.

I think the Coalition has been shocked by the backlash. They didn't expect so many people to care about others. A foreign concept for them. I also wonder if Pharmac was so angry about politicians telling them what they should purchase that they are fighting back by making life difficult for tĥe politicians.

Oh and don't forget Seymour has secured $45m for his Ministry of Regulation which is basically his pet project to run everything through his world-view shit-o-meter, wasting money, time and no doubt unwinding and destroying years of work because he doesn't believe in it. We are going to be on our knees by the time we get a chance to vote these vile, incompetent and rushless people out of government.

There are two extremes of Chinese philosophy which our Coalition of Continuing Cockups could have employed when drawing up the plans for our country's future. The first is Tai Chi, gentle exercise which benefits those who suffer from various ailments and is practiced regularly by many Kiwis.

The second is Lingchi, known otherwise as death by a thousand cuts. Our intrepid leaders, in their attempts to take this terrible method of execution literally for the whole country, have just about perfected the level of dumbfuckery shown in today's cartoon. I truly wonder how many people have to die, lose their homes and livelihoods or suffer other indignities being thrust upon them before this dumbfuck excuse for a government takes any interest.

It's each little brick becoming a huge edifice confronting the passage to where we were headed ... Of course ACT doesn't care about hobbling right-wing extremism, if we scratch their surface what will we find beneath it? And we've seen who is pulling the ring in the bull's nose.

Dumbfuckery😂😂😂apt description and don’t worry about the cut to extremism and terrorists that’s our coalition government. Let’s see how much deeper they can dig to bury Aotearoa

And today, here we go again, another I have dreaded would be raised by Act, Employment Legislation. The you-know-what’s will be disrupting the working class again.

Another one today that could be added to the list of "what the hell is going on". Im sure Bernard Hickey won't mind me quoting the following. "The public health costs of human-caused air pollution in Aotearoa-NZ is estimated at $38.8 billion a year because it kills 3,300 people each year, which is almost ten times more than the death toll on roads from accidents. Yet the Ministry for the Environment has just one staff member monitoring and regulating it." No just back office staff needed obviously. Clearly the cost is mainly to the working class so no worries then.

Right wing extremism is the cause of all the trouble in the world today. It includes Russia who have swung from 'left wing' extremism to 'right wing' extremism. Millions of innocent people are having their lives turned upside down and many are dying of starvation and disease. Yet we have a bunch of right wing neanderthals running this country who are still living in a bygone era of arrogance and ignorance where white is superior and everyone else is inferior.

Believe me, that is the bottom line no matter how much they try to deny it.

I agree but you can push people so far before something will break it just depends how many people stay apathetic.

Another new low. Courtesy of Luxon's capitulation to NZ First and the evil and corrupt Shane Jones.

"In early May our lawyer informed us that if the Fast Track Approvals Bill were to pass into law the way it is written, the government would be able to bypass the protections the Water Conservation Order gives Te Waikoropupū Springs.

Around the same time, we became aware West Coast MP Maureen Pugh had met with representatives of Siren Gold Mining. Siren Gold and its predecessors have been exploring gold deposits near Sam’s Creek in Golden Bay for many years. Siren Gold has been invited to apply under fast-track to mine Sam’s Creek.

Sam’s Creek Mine is essentially an arsenic mine. Up to eleven million tonnes of arsenic-laden rock will be mined. The processing of the rock will most likely happen at a plant to be developed on farmland in the Upper Takaka Valley. Arsenic-laden rock will be pounded to a fine powder and passed into a slime heap containing cyanide and other chemicals. The ore's high arsenic content would leave over 75,000 tonnes of highly toxic substance in the slime heap once the gold is removed. If the slime heap were to leak into the aquifer, as is likely to happen over time, it would mean the stygofauna in the aquifer would die and the crystal-clear waters be lost forever".

Sam's creek is near the aquafer that supplies water to Te Waikoropupu Springs.
