A good read indeed. I look forward to seeing Sharma's disappointed little face. I recommend that he join National alongside Sunny Kaushal - he knows how to say lots of meaningless words, so he'll fit right in.

The exploitation of the parents and baby by anti-vaxxers is utterly deplorable. The Courts and medical specialists have been patient and tolerant, but I see danger ahead, where all the fringies will demand their day in Court, wasting precious time that could be used to save a life. Pure blood pffffft!

Mainstream media editors are hinting at Nicola already. if National lose the by-election Chris will be gone by Christmas and I'm not sure that will suit Labour strategists

Have a fantasy that in the rabid quest for money on the part of Grey, the EFTpostle, Liz Gunn and Cam Slater (bankrolled now by someone), they'll get into a big fight and knock each other out...

Great article Nick, I'll be following the Hamilton by-election closely today and I'll be very happy to see the back of Dr Sharma. I'd like to see Willie take control of the media merger by holding a press conference to explain it to us and the same with co-governance. That way we won't get any BS from the media, it will be straight from the horses mouth, just like we had with the PM and Chris Hipkins over Covid. I hope Labour have a great rest over the holidays and come back fighting fit. Cheers

Well said Nick. I do agree with your comments. Especially re Jessica Mutch Mackay. Luke Malpass on Stuff is predicting that the Three Waters Bill may have passed but there will be ongoing ructions from it's passing because it was a bad process. He, for the first time admitted that water reform was much needed, and that there had been racism involved in the anti- Three Waters narrative. Too little, too late Luke.! I have been shocked by the comments aimed at Nanaia Mahuta. I do think the roll out of this legislation was not well done , and certainly did not "take the community with it". A point made by Malpass , and others like Sir Peter Gluckman who says the legislation was passed too quickly and did not get widespread acceptance across the community I disagree with. them.Three Waters legislation has been bouncing around for years- National started the process but as usual put it in the too hard basket . Labour signalled their intention back in 2017 and campaigned on water reforms. What these critics also miss is the orchestrated campaign by the National aligned Tax Payers Union ( started by John Bishop, father of Chris ) to undermine these water reforms. They obviously have plenty of money- their anti- Three Waters fear mongering ads on television must have cost a packet. Their fear mongering extended to in person campaigning especially in rural areas. My sister lives on a lifestye block in rural Waimakariri. She went to the anti Three Waters meeting, and was convinced that the govt. were going to "steal" control of Waimakariri's excellent water infrastructure. The mayor of Waimakariri 's objection was "why should they have to share the cost of upgrading other areas' water. " My point to my sister was that the rest of the country via Central govt. had payed to upgrade Waimakariri's water infrastructure post earthquakes. A point made by Shane Te Po in a Marae interview. Hypocriscy from the mayor of Waimakariri. I do think the new Labour candidate for Hamilton West is an excellent choice. I hope she does well - I'd love to see her in parliament.

The antics of grey, gunn and their fellow deluded travellers make me sick , to use a baby with a serious heart valve defect in their endless quest for attention is not acceptable , these loons should be run out of town, tarred and feathered or better still be put in a sack and dropped into the Waitemata Harbour from a great height.

Oh the shame ... I live in that bogan wasteland of the Hamilton West Electorate.

Ha - no shame in that, just poetic license on my part, I'm sure it is a lovely home for folks who live there, but it doesn't get great press. When I was growing up in Rotorua Hamilton was the big smoke!

I'm looking out over treetops and the river and I can walk to the Lido in 7 minutes. But oh Shama, and Shama Shame - I voted for him.

I'm guessing that many people who voted for Sharma were just supporting Labour in the wake of Covid, and anticipating that the candidate would be a person of good character. No shame!

Apparently Gaughan is no longer involved in that bar, and brewery. His ex-wife is . He withdrew from any involvement in the brewery and bar after his last racist rant about Māori. Gaughan himself is a pom. needs to go back to whence he came from. His ex-wife now runs the bar, and is trying to lease out the brewery. She was interviewed after his latest rant distancing herself and her business from him.

Hmm the One News article I linked was only from yesterday and the tweet under the name of the Brewery was from Thursday night. Doesn't sound like he heard the message.

The article I read featured a picture of the ex-wife, a Filipino woman, who expressed her concern that this man's comments would impinge on her business., as it did last time he let loose. I think that was on Stuff. She says she has had good support from the local community, and that he has nothing to do with her business now but clearly he represents himself as still being involved. His comments are offensive.

Talofa. Still hoping for a win, the Labour candidate looks really good, but in any case as you say it'll be good to see the back of Gaurav Sharma. Have a good one.
