A selfless hero, may we all follow his shining example and strive for a world where we fight for those less fortunate than ourselves. Manuia Lou Malaga 🤍

You said it all perfectly Nick. Only the day before, I had been reviewing his maiden speech and thinking that we did have good humans coming through the ranks in parliament. It was uplifting after knowing we were losing some good ones like James and Grant. It was such a shock and a loss of so much he could have brought to the country at a national level. He just lit people up.

If I'm honest, I had really no experience of Efeso Collins other than wanting him to win the Mayoral election and his entry to Parliament as a new member of the Green Party. Regardless, the stories about him and the amazing tributes have brought me to tears.

Very Well expressed Nick. The genuine Aroha shown in a very sad occasion like this contrasts starkly with Westminster style politics.

'A wonderful tribute to a wonderful human being'. Once again I thank you for so tenderly writing what I and so many are feeling.

Just heard this tragic news having been away from all news communications for a week. What a loss for his wife and two daughters. As for the country this is yet one more example of good people who care passionately for the underprivileged being taken all too early. Awful simply awful

I'm new to Aotearoa so a lot of politicians - especially the newest MPs - are not yet on my radar. This news is heart-breaking. This was a genuine caring man who would have done great things in this parliament. That maiden speech... such humility and determination. Arohanui

A good man in every way. I feel for his wife and girls. We lost a young father of two boys at the same time, in Australia. His wife and boys and all of our family in shock at the sudden loss. So we feel their shock and loss.
