From our awesome local councillor, Shane Henderson:
"Attended a beautiful event in solidarity with our diverse community and our Te Atatu library workers this morning. We shared korero and uplifted the space from the ugly events of the weekend
We stand up to hate here, and we respond with love and togetherness."
Those little kids and the librarians. Libraries were locked down in other places in West Auckland. What have we come to? Next thing it will be book burning in the square from Tamaki.
Thanks Nick. These days I work hard not to get angry but yesterday’s events made me let rip with a rebel yell of rage. How can this evil (in word and deed) creep still be free to rampage through our land, hoovering up the broken and dispossessed, priming them with snake oil salvation and setting them loose to prey upon their compatriots. Kiwi’s very own Proud Boys; a vicious band of thugs hyped up on a cocktail of adrenaline and whatever else fuels blind hatred and red rage. Those boys were out of control and instead of quelling them our police representatives folded their arms and watched the show. Finally, our fearless leader slapped the Eftpostle with a wet terakihi. Every day feels less safe than the one before but I stand with the people of Te Atari, our Rainbow Community and the marvellous Topp Twins. I will not be bowed down or broken.
Craig Renney recently made an excellent point, which our government appear a little too dense to have noticed. Our tourism workforce currently represents around 8% of our employment, and 4% of our GDP. That means, an average job in tourism is under half as productive as the average NZ worker. Literally, for every tourism job we add, our per-capita productivity drops... Once again, Luxon and co. seem very confused by the maths behind their "going for growth" sloganeering.
Sadly Luxon has set the bar for acceptable behavior very low by allowing wee mental davey to do stupid shit, its no wonder that an imbecilic eftpostle (mate of seymour) would set his thugs on nice people
Chippy first up with the clear message to Tamaki and his dysentery church yet not mentioned on One News only Brown and the glorious leader. It seems really hard for the left to get across their messages with this clearly Atlas controlled MSM. Keep up the good work Nick we need your voice and the others who actually do challenge the actions of this corrupt coalition.
A cosmic signal that we've reached the bottom of the barrel of talent in the National Party, if this is all they can manage with all that money behind them?
Given the quest for quantity over quality with tourists Louise might have said “Everyone must go and f*** themselves” because we just want your money, desperately. And, I say to you, let’s refer to them as Destiny Gang going forward
Their growing authoritarian tendencies are creeping out now. Telling people what they MUST do. They can’t help but let it slip out; It’s a form of Confession for them. Revealing the guilt and self awareness they feel deep inside.
Yes, using a negative sounding imperative does not exactly invoke thoughts of holidays. I reckon “Come on over” sounds a friendlier, more neighbourly phrase. Honestly, whoever came up with that tourism slogan and then the ones who okayed it need to go.
Yes, a totally embarrassing fail for a tourism slogan. I guess they ruled out 'Everyone Must Come' (hehe) early on.....although I like that one much better.
Kia ora Nick, and thank you..it's great to have the outrageous and the plain weird put into some semblance of readability.
I'm beginning to worry about my daily levels of cortisol as every day at least 2 things get my adrenaline going. Good job I have a beach handy!
Yesterday I looked at the small woman ...possibly a librarian?..being manhandled and shoved by a big guy in a Dysentery Church (thanks Mac I like that one) t-shirt. My heart went out to her, and my outrage and anger boiled. How DARE he do that to her...and how DARE his cohorts carry out assaults on peaceful members of the public, terrorising children, toddlers and their carers! The police should throw the book at them....and I agree with you, Nick....what if it had been Toi Tu Te Tiriti protesters gatecrashing a closed meeting?
It was so ...healing in a way...to see the community come together..with love..today. Chris Luxon should be ashamed of his response in the face of Chippy's statement: so true, direct and decent.
Events like these evidence the rise of intolerance and empowerment of the bigots, racists, the mean and dangerous, thanks to the rhetoric of Seymour, Peters and their ilk, and the deafening silence and immobility of the PM.
Yes, I came on here to make that comment to Nick, whose korero are amazing and so good to see the comments from those who live with compassion and intelligence. Chris Hipkins is a sound leader with the support of his party right behind him. Let's repeat Holyoake history xx

How long before the gangs take notice and rebrand as churches?

Send yours, with an invoice for a million dollars, to C Luxon.

I've just been, thanks...

As for Everyone Must Go...WTAF? It's just stupid.
Love your comments they're spot on 🎯🎯🎯
And what a shocker of a slogan ... fire those people. (Or did they do it on purpose?!)
Nick, I think you meant, Chippy left us in NO doubt. He usually does too, with clear messages unlike the obfuscation from the current government.
Yikes, yes I did, sorry about that, I've corrected it online now.

You vvill comply!
Everyone must go. So many uses for that imperative ..... Another fail by PM of Mediocrity
