I endorse every single comment that you made Nick. North and South ran an excellent piece on Grant six(?) years ago, it covered parts of his backstory and left you knowing he was a good man with compassion that was more than skin deep. Goodbye, good luck and thank you.
Or are pushed in front of the Bus to intentional derail their brilliance! Sad news on Efeso Collins, which will take a while to ripple through the Communities he served so well!
Luxons comment was typically "Canned", what a Dick!
That's a beautiful piece and tribute to one of my favourite people ever to grace the Parliament Building. I admit, I had tears yesterday at the news. I've wish him every success and acknowledgement that he deserves.
Such a good generous ethical friend of many of us in so many ways, with many skills. I recently heard that he trained as a marriage celebrant so he could officiate at Jacinda's wedding, and lucky couples in Dunedin might benefit from his expertise there too.
Thank you for putting into words what so many of us are feeling. We will miss Grant's quick wit and compassion, but wish him happiness in his future position. Lucky Otago, lucky students. May many future leaders learn and develop under his tutelage.
A lovely tribute Nick and yes NZ has been very fortunate to have had Grant Robertson alongside Jacinda and team to help us through the extreme times of the pandemic and cyclone Gabrielle. Sadly the current government doesn't have anyone with anything close to an ounce of his intellect and ability as we are seeing with their pathetic old-school austerity policies, gaping fiscal holes and short-sightedness. I am delighted Grant can now put his talents to use elsewhere (lucky Otago Uni) and can undoubtedly enjoy life away from the frustrations and what is often toxicity of parliament.
Well said Nick, Grant did an excellent job. Guess if he hadn't taken that VC job at Otago University now he would miss an ideal opportunity. Watching both Grant's & Chippy's press conference videos from yesterday I feel confident that Chippy has the balls & Barb Edmonds will do well to take Labour forward. A comment Grant made about Barb, apart from her financial ability, is that she can "cut through the crap" I look forward to watching her challenge Nickola.

And breaking news that Efeso Collins has died. What a huge loss for our nation! Only the good die young (or retire)…

Oh no...I did not hear that. RIP :(
Great tribute Nick to a great person and a wonderful politician. So sad the good ones leave and we are saddled with the detritus on the Govt benches.

Compassionate Finance Minister might be an oxymoron, but Grant was able to be just that. A great loss to NZ politics.

Parliament will not be the same without Grant's wit and wisdom. His repartee reminds me so much of David Lange. Parliament's loss is Otago Uni's gain.

Excellent tribute Nick x
A great man and leaving on his terms, I wish all the very best at Otago University.
Absolutely nailed it Nick. Great tribute.
Excellent tribute, thanks Nick.
Nick, you’ve written a beautiful tribute to a wonderful man and to the team that nurtured Aotearoa during the height of the pandemic. ❤️
Wonderful tribute Nick. Thank you. ❤️
