Shane Jones "Xu Nan should know his place" er no; you Shane Jones should know his place....he is an elected New Zealand member of Parliament....just like you!

Gerry Brownlee as speaker has also been complicit, by allowing such behavior and comments in the House as long as they are directed at the opposition.

Know his place? what weird 19th century language is that?

Katie O'Donnell's avatar

Yes, it's like 'pearl clutching'...who says that..oh yeah, that's right! I saw that Elliot Ikilei posted a rant that used the same rhetoric. So unimaginative!

Judith Paulin's avatar

Absolutely agree- it’s disgraceful! Fire him -and Shanethe Matua too!!

Kim Shaw-Williams's avatar

Shane is no Matua, Judith, and neither is his boss-man...they are both disgusting political grifters sucking on the teat of NZ's taxpayers hard-earned money and kissing the asses of the fat-cat non-tax-paying corporations/landlords of this poor wee country

Well, that clip is rocketing its way around the world. Helen Clark called Peters' behaviour 'humiliating'. It is so shameful. He should resign immediately and so should Luxon for not sacking him and for turning into a 'vote for National' moment, forgetting that it was his weakness and his desperation to be PM that helped get us into this mess.

I was so proud when Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Connell's haka was seen around the world. Peters' comments make me feel so ashamed.

Janie mcculloch's avatar

Absolutely agree ....it's so embarrassing!

Kim Shaw-Williams's avatar

Not embarrassing for me...I have never ever voted for NZ1st (how laughable that name is), not even once, or ever thought of doing such a thing...he is an embarrassment to all the anti-vax/anti-Jacinda RW racist nut jobs in this country...I wish they would all move to Australia!

Maybe the US would suit them better. I don't think Aussie wants them either.

A good clip from BHN today with Paul, the other one, who is a thoroughly nice guy:

I watched the clip, they're great, eh!?

I may well be wrong, I often am, but If Luxon was to suddenly find his spine and sack Peters, he would probably find it gains him votes. I imagine there will be plenty of Nat voters disappointed by his gutlessness, again, again...Long may that spine elude him.

It’s unbelievable that Shane,(drill, baby, drill)Jones declares himself and Peters as “historical foundation New Zealanders, and Xu-Nan should know his place”!! The way I see it, these two are nothing more than greedy, self serving Judases, who are happy to sell their whakapapa and country to the highest bidder when the lure of the almighty dollar, yen, euro or yuan is waved before their beady eyes. They are a disgrace to all decent New Zealanders, old and new,and should be ostracised, certainly from any government position and treated as the pariah they are. They no longer represent any formational cultural identity or values. It seems that they are perfectly content knowing their own place, that of standing behind the counter collecting the rewards of low waged immigrant workers hands digging up, chopping down or bottom trawling every last resource they have on sale this week.

CEO Luxo could be the one in the counting house, rubbing his grubby little hands with glee.

Janie mcculloch's avatar

Appalled, disgusted and embarrassed is how I feel and now we're making headlines overseas ffs!

SallyT's avatar

I think many of us have had the same response as you, Janie. I get that if Luxon sacked Peters from his current role, that would be the end of the government and we'd be going to the polls - personally, I am not opposed to an earlier election.

Leonie's avatar

Probably the reason that Luxon is not sacking him, he wants more green shoots.

I hope it costs NZF votes

Liz Francis's avatar

I think Luxon will hang in there so they can pass even more of their objectionable bills..

SallyT's avatar

Without doubt, Luxon's not going to be the one to break the coalition; it'll take Seymour or Peters to do that, but only if they see it being in their own interests. Luxon needs to see out the term to be seen legitimately on the international stage, which is his next move(he hopes!).

Jeff Dougal's avatar

We are entitled to expect more in terms of real leadership from our party political leaders. Peters clusterfuck comments are worthy of severe rebuke from our PM. Luxon disappoints again and again.

Keith Simes's avatar

Jacinda, “they are us”. NZF***ed, “they are not us”. Luxon, “Party vote for us/me”. And everyone should be asking Winston and Shane about their vaccination status…

Lawrence is super smart, funny, caring, stylish, dedicated to education and good governance and as such is the complete opposite of everything NZF stands for. The fact he was born out of the country is only one reason he annoys them.

Sally's avatar

I have completely lost all respect for our present government. Their mantra it seems is “divide, distract, disrupt and DESTROY “. Complete lack of trust😡😢

Just a word about this latest confidence poll and the crime category..... the Nats are seen as more capable of handling crime in NZ. Funny thing..I've done a wee bit of Labour Party door knocking and always ask the question: are you worried about crime in NZ or in this city? 100 times out of 100 the person I ask gives me a startled look and exclaims" No, I'm worried about the cost of living and how we're going to buy food etc."

I know what it's like to receive racist actions[ the eye stuff] and comments as I have been mistakenly seen as Chinese on a work site by several young people. It was horrible and demeaning. I am actually of Irish and Ngati Maniopoto heritage. Peters racist hatred rhetoric will only enabled others to do it.

Mac Stevenson's avatar

Wonder our PM is so guess he will ask the FM to put Winston in his place. What a circus we have
