Fixed a couple of typos. Also meant to say there won't be a newsletter tomorrow.

Excellent report. Always love Kieran.

🤗 Looking forward to the election campaign proper when Kieran leads for Labour & Simeon leads for National. Leaving Chippy to look Prime Ministerial while Luxon fluffs & flounders 🤞

Saw. this also and you are spot on Nick. Do so hope that Labour when they announce their policy really come up with something progressive that looks after the ordinary people. The rich have had their turn with interest. Lots of changes will also be needed - conservation land sales. etc etc etc

Having raised everyone's expectations about CGT and other tax reforms, I do hope it's not an anticlimax that disppoints everyone. There are endless examples of progressive governments disappointing their supporters because realpolitik trumps their expectations.

Kieran as always is a great Orator. He’s calm and knowledgeable. An excellent report.

So Winston let loose & reckons their going to dip into the Cullen Fund which would be beyond stupid I hope he's electioneering & not telling the truth but Willis would be desperate enough to do it. I listened to a interview by Bernard Hickey explaining economics to Verity ? it was so easy to understand & makes Willis seriously look stupid.

kathleen Murdoch's avatar

I listened to that too ,If only that message that Hickey has would be broadcast wisely, he does offer a solution.

I love what you say and how you say it.

I share the perspective. I only wish more Kiwis did. Onwards!

I hope like hell Kieran wins Wairarapa back. That Nat MP is clueless. I think his name is Mike Butterick. And a note to Aucklanders ; if you have time, there is a flash protest outside MFAT about Everlee Wihongi, the NZer locked up in an ICE concentration camp somewhere in Arizona. Winston has changed his tune a bit ; from. "it's all her fault for not filling in the form"(there isn't one) to saying "NZ can only intervene if she's facing the death penalty." !!!! 1pm Quay Street, Auckland.

I'm crossing everything in hopes of that Labour will come out swinging after the Budget, then. Their performance to date has been worryingly sedate. Fine, keep your detailed policy till later but please please make more noise about the catastrophic decisions made every day, it seems, by this appalling coalition. Inspire with some forceful rhetoric! Otherwise the non-vote this year will exceed the 1.6 million last time, and we all know where that will lead.

I just watched Q time. Filled up with patsy qs by the NaCts to themselves and long boring answers. It's hard to get headlines for Labour, though Willow did well screwing down haughty Erica. Just FYI list selection conferences start this weekend where members vote on their preferences for List Candidates.. There's a lot going on and of course me and other party members are having a lot to say about policy and I see many newbie Labour candidates out there on the doorstep having the convos with people and getting them enrolled. But you are right, we all have to work at it in whatever way we can.

Thanks Darien. I'll try not to lose hope!

I remember when Helen Clark and labour won in 1999, myself and others felt like we now had a Government which was not directly attacking working New Zealanders.

It was like a big sigh of relief to have the likes of Shipley and her miserable leprechaun offsider Richardson no longer meting out their Victorian punishments on those below them on the economic ladder.

Please can we have a return of equality and fairness in November?

Kieran kicked arse!! Way to go mate!!

🤔 I both dread and eagerly anticipate the forthcoming Budget. On the one hand likely more damaging idealogical clap-trap that will make people suffer if they return to power, on the other the opposition parties will have something concrete to campaign against plus (in Labour's case) some concrete data to analyse to inform what policies will be able to be funded in the short term due to the state of the books they would inherit.

Have a good day off tomorrow Nick - hopefully nothing major happens to shatter your peace 🤞🤗

Luxon doesn't have a plan. Luxon's never had a plan. He'd like one though. He's so jealous of Trump who has one and it flies. Very erratically. If Luxon did have a plan, it wouldn't fly. It wouldn't even get off the ground. His coalition mates would make sure of that. Luxon is a dead man walking. Bishop looks like one too.

Trump's plan is what ever makes him, personally not the USA, look good. Luxon seems to be rather the same way.

Yes. Enjoyed reading your newsletter. Kieran, someone I can listen to and relate too.

The other bloke, nah . They seem to share common ground & acknowledge each other.

I started to listen to Rem ?

& somehow ended up listening to Dominic Harrison, aka Yungblud. 😆 rocking out while crocheting a beanie!!! Thanks that was Fun .
