Brilliant, stark articulate analysis Nick. Laid bare [lol] for all to see. I just don't understand why it's not as obvious to other media what a destructive fool this man is, and would be for our beautiful Aotearoa
Hmm, certainly very similar to a narcissist, but he falls short on the highly intelligent criteria. He would make an appalling leader; smug, crowing, ungracious and of course totally inept. You have highlighted this ineptitude so clearly. And it matches the views of a number of conservative and swing voters I know. I suggest we all expose this ridiculous wannabe emperor relentlessly. Lack of clear substance behind broad policy is pretty obvious. It is the lack of sound leadership that is so dangerous. A narcissist in power would be disastrous.

Excellent. It's the multimillion donations to NAct that bother me. We also know there is the likelihood of disguised gifts. The speculation of someone paying $6m over the top for a former PMs private mansion for example. What do the donors expect in return? I would copy this to my FB pages but not with that toothy lead photo. That's what trolls on twitter did to JA
Plus the assertion that a third of NZers will be needing to fix their mortgages before Christmas! When Corrin pointed out that only a third of NZers even have a mortgage, so he was misrepresenting the figure, he conceded that it was indeed a third of that third of NZers with a mortgage, but in a very dismissive way that implied that Corrin was splitting hairs and details like that don’t matter 🤯
Totally agree Nick. Briefly watched Parliament TV yesterday and always assumed this was a forum for contesting ideas. What a farce with Luxon totally out of his depth, laughing at his own deputy, having his own deputy grimace at his ineptitude and his baying circus of clowns who ask questions then proceed to heckle etc. and not listen to the answers. Just as they do with scientists or others who use knowledge based information and are not possessed with Luxon's wonderful knowledge of all things. How 1 in 3 people in Aotearoa believe this hopeless excuse for a leader with his equally hopeless politicians could lead our country to any kind of brighter future is beyond me.
Great article Nick. I think he is missing the intelligence quota when it comes to being a totally complete narcissist . But it does leave him firmly in the Trump camp. God help us. Lets firmly believe there are more intelligent New Zealanders than Yanks
That interview was like listening to someone beaming in from another universe. He had no idea of the facts and wasn't even remotely interested in refuting Dann's points. Just witter witter witter. The kindest construction is that he's not a thinker.
well. personally i would like to relegate mental health labels to the landfill for historically and culturally devastating ideologies and ban their use. The "darkness behind the smile" could be alternatively be described as something external to those individuals, something in how they relate to the world, something in their world view that has them as superior beings, capable of conning the public, of making the most af all suspiciously immoral financial opportunites for ripping off the rest of us, believing that they deserve to own everything, along with all of the other bankers, so that they can be a the top of the pile when we all go under. That they believe they deserve that is an issue of rank ideologies propping up social entitlement inherited from the aristocrats that emerge from every overcrowded civilisation throughout history. At least we can draw hope from the knowledge that Chris Luxon is merely a John Key wanna be. without the acting abilities of "the smiling assasin". "Being found out" will be his downfall. My strong reaction to the use of mental health labels to individualise social issues is due to seeing this happening more and more and everywhere. I did enjoy reading this and hope that you and everyone can do more to expose luxon. Perhaps we need to have a national competition: Chris Luxon's "good economic management" is a euphamism for.......? Best response gets to have Two votes in the election. keep up the good work.

A well articated observation, which gives hope that your generation will ensure Aotearoa-nz has a Labour/Greens government going forward.
Thanks.
Thanks Nick that is exactly what that excuse for a leader is.
Now we all as a collective crowd on the streets of Aotearoa need to yell in unison 'he has nothing (on)!!'

Excellent Analysis , gets right to the heart of the thinking of Luxon and co. and it's bloody awful.
Thanks for that article, Nick. It all needs to be shouted!

Nailed it!! Nick do one on all the Leaders. You are insightful. I keep thinking of him as Gimlet Eyes.
His micro expressions are mostly sneers. That photo!! What a gem.
Yes we don't want a repeat of Key and self interest surely.
