This is so funny. But on a more serious note, for one night people came out and looked at the sky. And marvelled. A reminder that there are forces and power in our universe greater than we tiny group of humanoids can ever imagine or comprehend. (Ever tried to get your head around infinity? ). We live on a planet that is just a little distant star and we are just mere dots in the universe. But a planet that could easily be lost to next generations. Puts Luxon, Willis, Seymour and Peters et al in their place.

How does Granny Herald stay in business with a panagyric to Luxon followed by confusing drivel about policy?

Last week they were trying to offer me their daft "premium" news for 50c a week...eek, what a rip off :D

Thanks for a good laugh to start the day Nick. Clearly your facts are equally as good as those we get served by so many of the COC.

Glorious, though to be clear, Luxo is right (wing) infinitely more often than right (correct)

Me too. One of my sons occasionally likes to throw the woke word around. I always challenge him. YThe poem could come in handy for those occasions.

The music was a good ending to this piece of korero. Nick. The sunrises, and sunsets I can see from my house always have a little pink in them, so just slightly woke. You nailed it with Shane and Winnie. But all jokes aside Seymour is a nasty piece of work messing with the hot school lunches that the older children enjoyed. Getting at least one hot, nutritious meal a day made a difference to these kids. Sandwiches are not going to be a good substitute. I feel that Seymour knows this but wants to sabotage the school lunch scheme. It's WOKE to give people enough. They should only get the crusts, or gruel , and know that it is charity.

Re the NZ Herald article

(A) the headline pic is of warships

(B) Luxon does spookily resemble Muldoon.

Not to me, Muldoon looked intelligent, didn't have that inane grin, that looks like the sort of grin a self-conscious young man practices producing, whilst peering earnestly into a mirror

I can only imagine Destity, et al barricaded inside against all that colour outside! Or were they outside, shining bright white lights into the night sky to try and wipe out all that pink and red and yellow and green and....

I begun “Its time we all “woke” up! Really woke up to old, retarded and anti-democratic plans and intent

We should all WOKE UP.

Woke is to reject all Mysogeny, be fair with equal rights for all - not the humbug of slyly denigrating Maori for unequal imaginary rights - but equal. Absolutely equal pay for women and new immigrants.

Woke is to work - actively advocate and vote for - a living wage for all. No one left behind to dwell in poverty or homeless. Not to shrug and move on. Woke is to stay and stand and demand and vote for fully adequate housing for every child and family.

Woke is to recognise that for someone on the sickness beneficiary list has a genuine medical reason for being there, and not blaming them. Rather working to help them find a meaningful place in society. If they can’t hack it regular employment look for volunteering or other valuable contributions. With bonus monetary contributions. Those listed for work placement recognise some are in transition others are just out of place. Getting fuller employment has been improving for two years. We should look at what we were getting right.

Woke is to work for inclusion of everyone to welcome, befriend, lend a hand and encourage the gay man, lesbian woman, Muslim migrant or Indian student.

Oh well you must get it I am proudly WOKE and if you recognise some woke in you - then nurture it grow it. We desparately need to be shaken to have Woke up. WAKE UP to be fully woke up!
