My contempt for Winston is unparalleled. Why haven't the media pushed that he COULD HAVE STOPPED this RSB abomination by NOT voting for it! Now we have to try and forestall the destruction and exploitation that will occur over next 12months. YOU did this! Drunkle. YOU are responsible for its passing, YOU could have stopped this and made your stand on the right side of history. Your self- aggrandising posturing after the fact is pathetic

His moronic followers won’t mind. They will vote for him despite his egregious dishonesty.

Now that ‘Pike River’ is a ‘murder scene’, according to him, we can expect more loonies to line up for his circus.

It looks like exploitation of a tragedy which affected us all and could be a new low in his

cracker barrell style of politics.

I hope the people of the West Coast give him the bum’s rush.

Their deceased loved ones deserve better.

👍💯 Couldn't have said it better 🤗

Personally, I'd be just as embarrassed at having an oaf like Bishop as the country's PM than the vapid Luxon. But I'm hoping it's a moot point - Go Chippy! :D

Keith Simes's avatar

Bishop might be (slightly) less embarrassing but he is more mendacious and his Atlas background is worrying

Shell's avatar

Slim pickings over that side if you have to pick someone clever and un-cringey.

Part of me would love to see Luxon given the chop however having him and his obvious hollowness front the Nats through to the next election has clear advantages for the left.

What perplexes me is the 'power'of the coalition agreement. I wonder what sanctions are 'embedded' in it that mean coalition partners vote for things they totally disagree with?

Marilyn Wilson's avatar

Yes it’s interesting- maybe someone holds some secrets!

A bit like Putin over Trump!

" I wonder what sanctions are 'embedded' in it that mean coalition partners vote for things they totally disagree with?"

Could I suggest one 5 letter word? *power*

Yup, for Tories it's all about power. Nothing else matters.

Good point Frank, and I'm sure you're right.

This comment from Hooten is surely tongue in cheek "......build confidence among voters and the business community that he and his ministers know what they are doing" because Luxton clearly doesn't unless it's a photo op or Tik Tok and unless it's to repeal something already put in place by previous govts. his ministers don't either. As for the aged hypocrite the less said the better.

More depressing reading :(

But what was not a “hot topic in a boring parliamentary week” was the appalling news that the remaining survivors of Abuse in Care saga are still waiting for the scrap of justice they rightly won last year. There should be absolutely NO barriers for this to happen, none whatsoever. Shame on Aotearoa New Zealand Shame

Heather Thompson's avatar

Totally agree. Shame on them.

No to NZ First in any form! They re part of the ‘nasty’ lot I complain about regularly. Far toooo much water passed under the bridge with them.

If Chris Bishop thought he had a chance to roll Christopher and win the 2026 election, he would have done so by now.

Secondly, how about every available (ie those who don't already have a bill in the tin) Labour/Green/TPM/NZ First MP put a Bill in the biscuit tin to repeal the Reg Standards Act. The chances of having at least one drawn relatively soon would allow Winnie to live up to his word, just slightly earlier than intended.

Rachel Merritt's avatar

My thoughts are that when the water really stars to simmer Luxon will do a John Key, which was very different from Jacinda, and resign from Parliament (probably on Key's advice). He won't be rolled, his pride couldn't take that.

Cindy's avatar

👍💯 Agree... He will get his mate Donkey to line up a face-saving high-paying pointless position in some toxic organisation & escape the pig pen before he's sent to the bacon factory 🤷

If Peters had any principles he would have brought the government down over the RSB he is without doubt the shonkiest, double dealing, pig in the trough, waste of space in parliament.

NO NO NO to any deal with Labour.

The line I remember from that nursery rhyme is "not by the hair on my chinny chin chin." But you have to had a chin worth standing up for. Hoggard is an awful man and suits his name. We have a little spotted pig friend down the road we say hello to who is living her best life in a huge paddock with some calves and sheep. The thought of her in one of those crates makes me feel sick. Then Bishop, who has a huge chin, unkindly compared by me to the Habsburg chin, where Charles II of Spain and many relatives acquired it because of in-breeding - but Bishop's has no hairs. Winston, well I guess he's got a chin, but ithe hairs are covered in years of mould and betrayal and stink of tobacco sellouts.

Thanks Nick. Have a great weekend!

A. Loved the Three Little Pigs video. It'll take days to get that tune out of my head!!

B. My contempt for Peters is unchanged since 1996, when he campaigned against National not being fit for government...then after a few months keeping the country hanging, went into coalition with them.

C. Luxon is useless. For the love of Thor, I hope the Nats keep him as their Leader. He is our best asset.

See? Easy as ABC.

🙋 Perfectly laid out how despicable these people are... Who is the "big bad wolf" who is going to huff & puff & blow their house(s) down 👀 WE the VOTERS if we get ourselves organised 🤗 Because the script has been flipped & the 3 little piggies are the bad guys here, I don't mind making the "big bad wolf" into a hero/shero to save Aotearoa 💪🤷

Surely the 'lovely' maths-dunce Wiĺlis is in with a chance? after all she's all for economic growth hahaha. In spite of her austerity policies, the Otago economy is doing well probably due to primary industries and tourism - areas immune to her meddling. They all have to GO!

Alma Rae's avatar

There seems to be no lobby these greedy pigs will not accommodate. Their overseas bank accounts should be a matter for public disclosure and yes that's pretty cynical but never in my 73 years have I seen such blatant disregard for any and all standards of moral probity.

How heartbreaking for a sow to be stuck in a crate for a week! Omg… does she get out for breaks? How does that affect her body? Why do the farmers need ten years to adjust? Its cruel.
