That's also what those around the offices in Parliament are calling him now. He is not liked or respected at all. His arrogance and disrespectful manner when dealing with those in the back offices is renowned. He doesn't even return a "good morning" from staff.
Same as Luxon treated staff whilst in Air NZ Irene - in his early days in the Beehive there was talk of how disgusting he was towards some at the airline as well.
Yeah, yeah, oh yeah! (To quote Kenny Rogers). Old white fellas’ idea of a meritocracy is knowing someone who can get you that job, like a slightly dodgy ex-investment banker/ex-PM. But, I stthink he should stay rather than go - Luxon is the Left’s secret weapon for the next election
Great letter to Luxon, Nick. Pity he won't read it and if he did he doesn't listen to the advice from others. Where he gets his advice from who would know but maybe like us they're getting just a bit more than a bit sick of him and feed him stuff that makes him look more stupid by the day.
His little rant about hospital staff is beyond ugly. I have spent the best part of the last year regularly visiting for long periods at hospital and I can say with hand on heart that the nurses and doctors despite being underfunded and understaffed do the absolute best job in caring for their patients - they are simply wonderful.
What I did notice was that scans in particular are harder to get and slower to get done, a scan in three months becomes 6 or 9, or a recommended scan requested by a doctor gets declined. That is where the " Mush " is Mr Luxon - it is the stuff you and your government have imposed on the health system through your callous underfunding and deliberate sacking of people doing critical patient care administration.
And look now we have some lovely good old racism thrown in for good measure and the ones who demonstrably are at the bottom ( no pun intended ) in health statistics for bowel cancer are now shut out of bowel screening for 8 more years. That is worse than mush that is just Fucked. And that is about all most of us get from you and your crooked coalition.
Iv'e just got back from having a blood test. Quincey the young Filipina/ Pinay who took my blood test was fantastic - as pretty much all Health Professionals are. Very kind and gentle and the process was painless. She was just amazing and we talked about a whole bunch of stuff. Under this governments xenophobic criteria she should probably go back to the Philippines.
Agreed Brian. They are all, in the health system, lifesavers and courteous and tolerant to almost a fault. The way we are taking them for granted and hamstringing them infuriates me.
That's the thing: their outlook of maximising the short-term extraction of wealth over long-term investment is a terrible way to run a business unless you're just asset-stripping it.
Lame-o Luxo’s merit meteor is on a disastrous downward trajectory. But something in me wants to see it burn all the way to the next election where it’ll be ignite the fireworks celebrating a landslide Labour/Green/TPM victory. 💥
Both Key, and if you want to be uncharitable, Ardern, saw the writing on the wall - this guy wouldn't see a bus right in front of his face about to run him down.
I too credit Jacinda for the wisdom to acknowledge it and get out of the way to give Chippy-a-chance and an apprenticeship to set him up for the next election. And I observe that Chippy has been on fire these recent months! His frontings to media have been spot-on.
I think the major issue with the public is that it's become obvious that this government doesn't stand for anything Nothing git does gives us hope of a better future for us and our children. Luxon is hopeless at explaining or answering any question. He is not well informed and avoids answering.
What is clear is that Coc are great at rewarding their soonsors donors and advisors with contracts and positions of influence and tax relief.
If Luxon was replaced there is no sign that the Coc direction would change. Someone else might explain what they are doing or not doing more clearly.
Not sure that would do Coc much. good with the general public.
Oh, he HAS to stay. We need him at the helm while we roll up to the next election. He is the perfect front man for a government that is all about "mediocrity, mediocrity, mediocrity". As per usual, he mis-spoke.
The war on woke stuff really disgusts me. It is digging in a big shit puddle to get votes because Peters is losing and on last poll, close to being out of Parliament. And stupid old Luxon climbing on the bandwagon - getting desperate too and has Judith Collins onto it now. It's just a fig leaf. Meritocracy my arse. You mean like Andrew Bayly huh Mister Lame-o? It's the old political correctness gone mad except they've found a new name for it. A certain blogger has also weaponised the word WOKE against the left. He will be pissed off (or maybe pleased) because he claims to have popularised the word. That makes me furious too.
Thanks Nick. Your Greek chorus of PR catastrophe made me laugh until I cried for the beloved country because it’ll take a miracle to pull us out of this mess.
Once again you have summed up things wonderfully well Nick. It is now beyond question that those who voted for this incompetent fool and his support parodies of politicians did no favours for Aotearoa. An early election would allow the damage to be contained however Luxton is an on going gift for the opposition so perhaps not just yet.
Brilliant, (but unfortunately fake)headline. I think the public would see a great difference immediately. The sausage guy does at least make an effort to convince us he believes in the product he’s promoting.
Andrew is probably in the best place at Everest Base Camp. It sure as hell beats the quality of the very base campers in the environment he’s escaped from, at least for a while. I actually hope he gets to the top. Something Luxon will never achieve. Anywhere in any field.
Luxon’s trip to India will be relief for all of us from his constant insistence about how everything is great in AotearoaNZ. Unfortunately he will return with an even bigger ego than he left with, again.
Much to my surprise,a rant I sent to the Herald about Phil Goff’s sacking, was published yesterday, so I thought I’d send another after watching the news last night, to see if it makes it. If not, you read it here first! And last. Below. I’m beginning to think the media, printed and broadcast, are becoming as fed up with this administration as the rest of us. Benedict Collin’s appears to have free rein in his political reports these days. He doesn’t pull any punches. Could that be the reason a cabal of right wing billionaires want to acquire NZME, to stifle anything they don’t agree with?
Perhaps a caption for the photo of Luxon and Winston whispering to each other….
Luxon: What do I say now to make me look great?
Winston: Just tell them that everyone is working incredibly hard to deliver a country where all New Zealanders can prosper.
Just like you usually do.
An excellent cover of Should I stay or should I go👍😀😀
Letter below.
Yet again we hear Christopher Luxon tell us how “incredibly hard” one of the Coalition ministers is working, this time, to resuscitate the school lunch delivery disaster. Could he please remove this phrase from his vocabulary? All this, and other much repeated “incredibly hard” work seems to be achieving is that this Government is digging a much deeper hole in which to bury any hope of recovery for our country any time soon, particularly for those affected by incredibly increasing failures, who are now finding life “incredibly hard” to make ends meet without a job.
He's not going anywhere - except to shake hands, grab arms and embarrass us overseas again. No matter the shame. He wants to be Sir Christopher, and he's not going to get that gong through doing good charitable work, is he?!
Don’t you have to do some actual work of note to earn a gong? Any work, indeed effort, on Luxo’s side would be a bloody miracle! If he did become a Sir it would taint all those who have deserved the title.
According to the Internet, the PM's new nickname is "Lame-O Luxon", which seems like the sort of thing that could stick. 😂
"For Shame-O Luxon" seems more apt!
🤣🤣

Either way, stay or go, they've got no one else likeable anyway. It's a 'meh' from me.
Agree...and whoever might take over have their hands tied with the Coalition contract Luxon got the party committed too.
Absolutely agree, Keith, The left’s best weapon

Well said. Attaching the health sector is insane; nobody believes the people working in it are the problem.
Iv'e just got back from having a blood test. Quincey the young Filipina/ Pinay who took my blood test was fantastic - as pretty much all Health Professionals are. The Tories have always proclaimed to be superior at business and therefore are natural leaders.
Well, how's the ferry business, the school lunch business, the health business, going so far ??
That's the thing: their outlook of maximising the short-term extraction of wealth over long-term investment is a terrible way to run a business unless you're just asset-stripping it.
I reckon he should stay so we remain on a faster track to a snap election.

Winnie and Lame-O think this cabinet is based on merit? Really? We are in Orwell's world, now.
I think the major issue with the public is that it's become obvious that this government doesn't stand for anything Nothing git does gives us hope of a better future for us and our children. Luxon is hopeless at explaining or answering any question. He is not well informed and avoids answering.

When it gets too tough in politics on the home front he zooms away! Can’t take the heat or the bad polls.
Gee Marilynn I hope you are right and he zooms off for good. I would pay to see that.
He’s as shallow as a puddle in a drought. Globetrotting at our expense, achieving nothing of true value or benefit to the country overall.
As for Seymour and Winston, they have run rings around the PM, and Seymour is definitely the tail wagging the dog.

Interesting, and certainly food for serious thought.
A Cabal of Billionaires.
Yes, when I saw that, I thought hmmmmm.

Woke is as woke does lol whatever that means I really haven’t a clue if Luxon is anti woke then I guess I am all for woke bring it on
Ha - I'm with you Jillian, as I saw someone post if you swap "woke" for "human rights" it's all pretty clear.
